I know I've been where you have been with dogs. Not all hunting dogs but all friends and companions. When I lost the last one someone sent me a stone engraved with "No longer by my side but forever in my heart" I hope they save a spot for me when I join them
WORD. Every word, in fact.
Beautiful, beautiful words. Thank you so much for sharing, and my condolences on the death of your friend.
Beautiful tribute, Rachel. I’m deeply sorry for your loss.
Wow. Thank you. I can't stop weeping. 62 y.o. tough sob to boot. Your post touched me deeply. I've lived it.
Holly Hunter the Catahoula. Treed her first 425lb bear when she was 10 months and 40lbs. Gotta love a runt!
But yeah, fast forward 14 years later... .38 to the brain. She swam, she ate well and was so fucking happy. If you know, you know. I know you know.
I think about her every day. 6 years on...
Again, thank you.
